What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are custom-designed ceramic shells that recreate the look of your natural teeth. By placing these restorations directly into your existing smile, we cover existing imperfections without requiring extensive surgery. This allows you to retain the healthy structure of your original teeth while achieving a complete smile makeover of their outward appearance! With the proper care, your veneers can last for well over a decade, making comprehensive cosmetic dental care achievable for years.

What Flaws Do Veneers Address?

By covering the front surfaces of your teeth, veneers can correct many different imperfections in the same smile. This can provide exciting improvement without the need for multiple procedures throughout several visits. The issues veneers address include:

  • Fixing minor spacing gaps
  • Correcting discoloration due to loss of enamel
  • Covering physical wear and tear, such as chips and cracks
  • Offering a more uniform shape to each tooth
  • Restoring height lost to teeth-grinding

Designing And Placing Your Veneers

We will take a series of digital images of your teeth to create a sample design of your new smile. When you are satisfied with the shape, size, and color of your veneers, we will send the design to our ceramist to create your custom shells. We then remove a small portion of the enamel from the front of your smile to create room for your veneers.

At a second appointment, we will deliver your restorations to verify their shape and fit. If necessary, we will make any color or sizing corrections before bonding each veneer to the front of your smile.
